There’s no doubt M-Files customers are better equipped for data privacy regulations — like California’s new California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
CCPA may be just the beginning for State-level data privacy regulations in the United States though. Other States will surely be looking at CCPA as a proving ground before drafting their own versions.
The law, which goes into effect on January 1, 2020 will have organizations taking a keen look at their compliance and data governance practices to make sure sensitive data contained in their information ecosystem is secured and earmarked for proper use only.
